Meeting Minutes.
May 8th Meeting at Motorbikes Plus.
We're now buying pizza's from the Pizza Factory for the meetings.
1. Discussion of what to do with our well endowed account. Similar to last
month's meeting;
A. SCTR racing shirts- Brad Henderson and Scott Grenier are designing a shirt
that members can buy at a reduced rate of around $15 with SCTR and/or
Motorbikes Plus logos on them.
B. Buying our own ATV or just paying to have members ATV's maintained. We're
leaning towards just paying guys like JD and Paul to maintain their ATVs.
C. Using money to help landowners whose property we want to use.
2. Scott Grenier has offered to do a vinyl logo for the SCTR trailer. We want
members and their kids to come up with some new designs featuring SCTR, MBP,
dirtbikes, etc.
3. NH Classic: John Smyrnos was looking for riders to help lead the kids in
the kids Classic on June 7 and 8. Not sure about if they would have to pay the
$80 entry fee.
4. Enduro and turkey run; Talk of making the enduro 100 miles long running
close to the turkey run route. Each event will be broken up into sections with
a section chief for each section arrowing, getting land owner permission,
sweeping, etc.. Scot MacDonald has a software and maps to help lay out the
whole course with land owners.
5. Gary Cheney is helping organize a Grand Prix dirtbike event at Hemond's MX
track in Minot Maine on Oct. 19. It'll be 3 man teams of any ability racing
for 6 hours with an hour break at noon.
The course will be set up with a split for novices, amatuer and experts so the
lap times would be nearly equal. This is not a Netra event and Hemond's would
be supplying the insurance.
6. We've been doing Wed evening rides out of John Nickerson's house in Eliot
Maine. About 30 miles from 5 to 7:45pm. An e-mail will be sent out the day
before to confirm the ride.
7. Seacoast Dirtbike Tours doing Colorado tours. 1st one this July 15th.
Reduced rated for members. www.SeacoastTours.net
April 10th Meeting at Motorbikes Plus.
Brad bought some pizza's and drinks for everyone. Brad Henderson (VP) was the
moderator.
A. Talked about the Winter Scramble. What to do with the profits ($4400)?
We'll be buying pizzas and drinks for the beginning of the meetings. Food for
our family day events.
Buy racing shirts at $25ea and club member pays $15? SeaCoast
logo and/or Motorbikes logo printed on them. Still up for discussion. Buy a
large canopy for our events? Gary Cheney offered to use his. Still up for
discussion. We voted to have JD Mott's ATV serviced at MBP and the club pay
for it. We've used it for the last 3 events and he's put a lot of use on it.
Where to have it next year? Hemonds MX
track in Minot Maine is a favorite. Noble High will be looked at to see if we
can get a 4 to 5 mile course and permission. MX207 will still be considered
but it's unlikely since we have to deal with the National Forest Service and
they want 10% and a $5000 deposit on the trails. Looking at January to have
it.
We discussed with Kevin Breton about the pro's and
con's of a safety deposit box and keeping cash from the events in it. We're
still going to do it by checking account.
Kevin reimbursed members who had expenses from the Scramble.
B. Membership dues. A lot of members renewed their memberships and we had 2
new members show up. $20/individual or $25/family
C. Kids Classic. John Smynos talked about whether Hop-Ev will be available.
D. Mike Smith talked about the Noble Turkey Run being in the opposite
direction and having the enduro run most of the same trails except for the
hero sections. He said the enduro could be 100 miles.
E. Peter Jacobs offered up some land in Lebonan for some trails. Someone he
knows bought the ski lift area at Moose Mt. and might give us permission to
ride there. Not to be confused with the back side that some land
conservationists bought.
Meeting was over around 8pm but most stayed til 9. Thanks to MBPlus for
letting us stay.
March 13th meeting at Motorbikes Plus.
Here are some highlights from last night's 3/13/08 meeting at Motorbikes Plus;
Harescramble; on March 22nd we'll be going up to MX207 to assess the trail
conditions. We'll need about 10 people. If we decide to postpone it til Dec.,
then we'll take down the arrows, ribbons and bridges. If we decide to go ahead
with the race, then we'll finish up arrowing, taping and clearing any more
trail. The money spent so far was for bridge materials that we can take out
and store at Paul's house. Also for the plaques that are still blank and can
be used for other events.
The NH classic flyers are out. $80 for the 2 days. If you get $100 in
donations, then you ride for free and get a chance at winning the dirtbike. If
you have kid (12 to 16) that wants to ride the Kids Classic, then get
your entry fee in early.
They'll have a big bike ride on Sunday.
Talk of club rides that'll include a course for beginners and other riders to
learn some riding skills. A few of us will try to take a state instructors
course.
Those rides would be at Alton, Devils Den or maybe Boisvert's.
Kevin Howley is doing the club's taxes for around $400
Talk of maybe adding big bikes to the Noble Turkey Run
Club member dues are due in April. $20/member or $25/family
The MX track in Minot Maine is asking us to help put on an event in October at
their place. Most likely a hare scramble. It's 100 miles from Portsmouth. No
one expressed interest in it. They want to put on a 2 day jamborree, with
Toyota and other dealers.
The Seacoast Dirtbike Tours website is up and running at www.SeacoastTours.net even
though it's still being fine tuned. We'll be doing 3 trips to Colorado.
July 22, Sept. 7 and Sept. 14
There are also numerous tours here in NH and Maine. On some of the local
tours, some members can ride for free.
Gary Cheney took a trailer of 6 bikes to North Carolina to do 2 weekends of
riding, flying home in between the 2 weeks. He said the riding was great, 100
miles of riding in the Brushy Mt park at $15/day
Motorbikes had at least 40 new KTM bikes and 1 ATV on display. Check out their
store. It's looking great. SCTR members get a 15% discount.

Feb. 14 Meeting at Motobikes Plus;
++Voted to have the Winter Scramble moved to March 30th. The other date
considered was Sat. March 22 and December. The new date won't be posted until
I get an okay from Netra and the scorekeeper.
++John Smyrnos reported that the Kids Classic will be at Bergeron's and Hop-Ev. The NH Classic will be charging adults $100 for the 2 days. There will not be a Pee Wee ride. ++The club won't be joining Maine ATV. It's $800 and we have to incoporate in Maine. We might just have a few members join some of the local clubs such as Southern Maine ATV or Square Pond ATV. ++We're paying Kevin Howley to do the club taxes. Since we made over $25,000, it got more complicated and Kevin has experience with this type of filing. ++AMA has a new card for racers. It's a AMA Waiver card and will eliminate having to sign any waivers at the race. ++Some talk of the Turkey Run and club rides this summer ++John Pierce showed off his broken collarbone. ++JD Mott's heading out to Phoenix with some big bikes. He has room for more. ++Snowmobiling trail conditions are excellent esp. around New Durham, Gilmanton, Belmont
